Applause... The universal way of acknowledging achievement.
That was the vision prompting the beginning of Applause Talent Presentations by Mary Ann Weisbrod 20 years ago.
Mary Ann, businesswoman and parent of a dancer, surrounded herself with professionals from the dance world to organize a competition benefiting all ages and stages of performance. The input of dance teachers, dance professionals, vocalists, and gymnasts as well as parents of dancers was as vital then as it is today!

A Knowledgeable and Well-rounded Judging Panel
To achieve this, Ellen Werksman - a dance professional, teacher, owner of her own dance production company, Dancewerks, and lover of children - was appointed judge and master class coordinator. Through Ellen's many contacts with top artists from around the country, Applause is able to assemble a well-rounded panel of judges. We recognize knowledge as well as awareness of the dancer's age and stage of abilities.
